Bidding

Idaho Auction Company attempts to avoid using a “Reserve” price on any auction sale item. We believe the inclusion of a reserve tends to restrict interest and bidding activity on some of our most interesting and sought after items. Given this tendency, we attempt to promote/market our auction sales to encourage the largest possible bidding audience and drive successful bids that achieve values which are at or above desired outcomes for sellers.

The Idaho Auction Company software is designed to handle auctions in which there are live bids and online bids occurring simultaneously. As a result, at the close of each auction item, the system will indicate “You may have won.” While you are likely the winning bidder, this allows our team the opportunity to verify your winning bid and ensure that all is inline for your purchase. You will typically receive an emailed invoice within 24 hours of the auction close. If you have questions, please contact our office at (208)953-7355.

Idaho Auction Company sales utilize a staggered close structure. Using this method, each lot is set to end at a specific increment following the previous lot. This prevents all lots from ending at the same time.

We also utilize a soft close bidding structure. Using this method, bidding activity on each individual item extends by 4 minutes per lot if there is any bid placed within the final four minutes prior to the items scheduled close. This bidding activity will be extended until there are not additional bids placed.

Some bid amounts may require advance approval before being considered valid. This allows our team to verify that you have the means to pay for the bid you are submitting. We do this in order to provide a fair bidding environment for all prospective buyers – ensuring nobody can inflate prices for all by simply offering exorbitant bids with no expectation of paying.

We will typically verify account information and require approval for bids higher than $1000.00. To avoid unnecessary delays, please ensure all account information is current – including email, phone number, and address. If you have questions, please contact our office at (208)953-7355.

A maximum bid is the highest amount you are willing to pay for an auction item. Once set, our auction software will automatically manage your bids to ensure you remain the top bidder up to your maximum bid amount. This will only occur if another bidder attempts to outbid you.

Idaho Auction Company will manage every aspect of your auction sale, from inventory to research to photography and sale. We collect all fees and ensure all final transactions are handled with care and quality service. Our marketing/promotional program targets the largest possible audience to gather the most bids and highest value for your treasured items.

Certain times of year are more successful for specific items, as is the case with winter sports gear – such as skis, snowboards, boots, etc. These items tend to sell more effectively and at higher prices during the applicable season for which they were designed. On the other hand, springtime often results in cleaning for many families, which relates to many more items (often more bidders) for sale between March and June of each year.

Idaho Auction Company holds sales on a weekly to bi-weekly basis, every Wednesday, throughout the year.

Idaho Auction Company prides itself in prompt payment to its consignors. While most payouts are processed sooner, we ensure payment to consignors within 45 days of each auction’s end date.

Yes, all items are fully insured for the amount of the high estimate. Once we have the items in our possession, they are insured until the day they transfer to the new owner (auction buyer).
